Welcome Host Volunteer

We want every visitor to the Royal Opera House to know who we are, what we do, and how they can enjoy our performances, events, tours, exhibitions, shop, café, restaurants and more! You can lead the conversation so that every visitor feels welcomed and included, no matter their background.

Informal selection meeting dates/times (20 minute slots, online):

• Monday 10 June 2024 - 12:00-16:00
• Tuesday 11 June 2024 - 15:30-19:30
• Wednesday 12 June 2024 - 12:00-16:00
• Thursday 13 June 2024 - 15:30-19:30

New volunteer induction day:

• Sunday 23 June 2024, 10:00-16:30 in person at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden

Schedule and commitment

• Can you volunteer 2 to 4 sessions per month?
• You can book sessions flexibly using our scheduling app!
• Sessions available from Monday to Sunday, morning to evening.
• Most sessions last between 1.5 to 3.5 hours.

Who are we looking for? Everyone is welcome, no matter your background or experience. 1 in 4 of our volunteers had never visited the Royal Opera House before they applied!

We particularly encourage you to apply if you identify as disabled or from a Global Majority background as these groups are underrepresented in our organisation.
